About
A Community Voice (ACV) is a non-profit community organization comprised of working, poor, elderly, women, children, and families. ACV provides a community voice for its members and constituencies in the everyday issues that affect their daily lives. This enables the community to bring together those who have common interests and concerns to improve the quality of their lives and those of others in the community.

Louisiana Residents Fighting for Social & Economic Justice
Access to Affordable Healthcare :The failure of Charity hospital, Methodist hospital and Memorial hospital in New Orleans to reopen post-Katrina has left a gap in adequate and affordable health care for our state. In addition, Governor Jindal has also enacted several cuts to existing hospital and health care funds and closed Earl K Long hospital in Baton Rouge. Sick residents are having to travel out of state to see to their basic health care needs. Members of A Community Voice have been out in the streets protesting and fighting for health care services that w
e desperately need.
Affordable Housing : A Community Voice helps low to moderate income families find affordable housing opportunities through access to financial literacy trainings and campaigns to fight lending discrimination.

Citizen Wealth: A Community Voice members work hard to create and support programs that advance opportunities for asset-building in low to moderate income communities such as financial literacy training for individuals and affordable housing workshops to support low income residents who want to buy their own homes.
Low to Moderate Income Neighborhoods: A Community Voice neighborhoods are neighborhoods in which residents come together to fight for their fair share. They come together to demand an end to neighborhood discrimination and demand that their tax dollars be spent to uplift their communities. We support infrastructure and projects that better our neighborhoods instead of exploiting our people.
Environmental Racism: We are active in the streets to educate and inform residents of big business projects that will adversely impact our communities such as the widening of the Industrial Canal in the 9th Ward in New Orleans to toxic oil rigs in our Gulf.
